Im a 26 year old professional chef but ive always wanted to be an illustrator and one I could be proud of.

Haveing a full time job that takes so much from you and doing art on the side is not easy. At times I find myself overwhelmed, intimidated and isolated with my art.

I dont have meany viewers on the art I make but, someday I will. That thought is what keeps me Chasing after my childhood dream of becoming an illustrator.

The things that started all of this

My mom alway told me I had a "thing" for art the same way my father did. She would tell this story about me and my brother. (I was around 3 or 4) one day she went to work and my sister was supposed to keep an eye on us, as teens do she didnt.

Me and my brother found some markers and just went to town on the walls. when my mom got back I ran to her and proudly showed her "it's batman and robin" I told her. understandably she was pissed but she told me she couldnt help but smille.

besides random scribbles this was the start of me doing art I guess.

Some time past and When I was 5 or 6 I went to fostercare It was hell for me and my brothers. Even tho it was torturous there was small parts that made it livable. I rememder siting at the dinner table drawing with crayons my brothers next to me.

I drew this robot droping an icecream. I made these lines to show him droping it, I then showed it to my brother and said something like "the lines make it look like he's really moving right?"

he was Impressed and gave me some increment. After that he showed me how to color in a way that helped me stay in the lines. That was one of my favorite memories of back then.
